The Rev. Arthur Willis Tucker, 87, of Moultrie passed away Thursday, April 29, 20024, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004, at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Weldon Allegood, the Rev. James Sanders and the Rev. Silas Carver officiating. Rev. Tucker was laid to rest at Omega Cemetery.
Wayne Tucker, Michael Tucker, Jackie Crumley, Jerry Crumley, David Sumner and Larry McBrayer served as pallbearers.
Born December 11, 1916, in Irwin County, the Rev. Tucker was the son of the late Elisha Tucker and Wootie Grantham Tucker. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Tucker, Clayton Tucker and Hubert Tucker; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Before retiring, he served as a Holiness Baptist minister; and he was a member of Pineview Holiness Baptist Church in Tifton. He was also a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Army.
The Rev. Tucker is survived by his wife, Ruby Louise Bryan Tucker of Moultrie, who he married on January 9, 1944; two sons, Willis Tucker of Folkston and Jimmy Tucker of Moultrie; one daughter, Louise Walker of Tallahassee, Florida; three sisters-in-law, OreDell Tucker of Tifton, Doris Tucker of Lakeland, Florida and Ethelene Tucker of Moultrie; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
