Marlene T. DeBay
TEWKSBURY: Marlene T. (DeMarco) DeBay, age 89, a resident of Tewksbury for 55 years, passed away at Giving Tree Senior Living in Dracut on Sunday, March 17, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of James P. DeBay, who passed away in August 2016.
Born in Boston on October 2, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Michael and the late Teresa (Gentuso) DeMarco.
Marlene was raised in East Boston and later lived in Somerville. Prior to retirement, she worked as a secretary at Tewksbury State Hospital.
Marlene was an active member and volunteer at the Tewksbury Senior Center where dancing was her passion. In addition, she was a member of the Tewksbury Red Hat Society.
Marlene is the mother of David DeBay and his wife Stephanie, of Nashua, NH, Lawrence DeBay, of Mt. Dora, FL, James DeBay, Jr. and his wife Maryann, of Richmond, VT, and Richard DeBay and his late wife Christine, of Pelham, NH. She leaves eight grandchildren, Ariana Manganaro and her husband Joseph, Ian, Stephen, Zachary, Deven, Abby, James III and Will DeBay: one great granddaughter, Tessa Grace Manganaro.
She was the sister of the late Louis DeMarco and Elizabeth Ward.
Her family would like to thank the caring and supportive staff of the Giving Tree Memory Care Unit and Brookhaven Hospice.
At her request, funeral services were held privately. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
