Gorham, Maine - Gregory Hoar, 39 years old, died Friday March 15th, 2024, in Buxton.
Greg was born on August 12th, 1984, in Portland, Maine, a son of ‘Big Greg’ and Florence. He graduated from Gorham High School in 2002. At age 15, began his working years. Greg spent all of his adult life working at PHW Woodworking, doing Construction, Demolition and Woodworking with Phil, who became like a second Father to him.
Greg loved his work and loved becoming part of Phil’s family. Phil, his wife Tammy, Chantel, Nathan and Arianna all helped keep Greg safe; showed him love and gave him the family he always wanted and needed especially after his own Parents and Grandparents passing.
Greg is survived by his three sisters, Krista, Kathy and Side-kick Sis Trish. Christine, Jessica, Allen and Kalene and all of their combined children call him ‘Uncle Grizzly’. On his Father's side, His Uncle Lee and Uncle Rick, and on his Mother's Side, Uncle Edward ‘Bubba’, and Aunt Kris. Many Cousins who all adore him. Most Importantly his beloved children, Benjamin, Mason and Daisy-May.
Greg loved helping anyone. He was always the loudest in the room and always left a lasting impression anywhere he went, whether it was marching for the poor in Washington DC, hanging with Nathan who was like a little brother to him, shopping with Chantel, singing karaoke, or stripping unexpectedly at his sister's wedding. You could always count on him for a good laugh, and knew if he was around you would be happily entertained, a little bit annoyed, but definitely smiling.
Greg was so Loved, had a huge heart, and will be missed by So Many.
A service to celebrate Gregory's life will be held on Thursday March 21st at 2 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.
