Concetta “Connie” (Epifania) Grassini, a resident of North Reading and a former longtime Medford resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14th at Andover Forest Care Center in North Andover. She was 79. Born in the waning days of World War II in Montefalcione, Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and the late Francesca (Capone) Epifania.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Coming to the United States, Connie made a career as a seamstress at the House of Bianchi, where she made high end wedding gowns and other items. She also was very happy to use these skills at home, making gowns and other clothing for her loved ones. Although she enjoyed working, Connie loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. In her free time she had fun playing cards and bingo. Upon her retirement, she spent several years in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she was very active in her condo community.
The beloved wife of the late Antonio Grassini, Connie was a devoted mother to Tina Cataldo and her husband Michael of North Reading, and Frances Grassini of Reading. She was a loving grandmother to Michael Antonio Cataldo and Francesca Elena Cataldo. Connie was a dear sister to Maria Buccella and her late husband Louis of Quincy, Lidia Bonaventura and her husband Angelo of Medford, and the late Feliciano Epifania. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, March 19th from 9-11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
