Michael F. Egan, 62, of 49 Richland St. died Tuesday, July 11, in his home, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves his son, Michael Patrick Egan, a daughter in law Kathleen, and his pride and joy Kaitlyn, his 4 year old granddaughter. He also leaves his former wife Rose, his good friend Joanne and many cousins and friends.
Mr. Egan was born in North Brookfield where he attended St. Joseph’s School. He later moved to Worcester where he lived for forty years.
Mr. Egan served in the US Navy (CBs) from 1962 to 1964. He worked in construction for many years and was a member of the building and trades Union Local #48 in Worcester. Mr. Egan also worked for many years tending bar in many of the city’s establishments.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 15, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10AM in Ascension Church, 48 Vernon St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Friday, July 14, from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home.
