ALEXANDRIA ---- William "Bill" Joseph Hanley, 75, of Alexandria, went home to be with the Lord, having succumbed following complications related to heart failure and infection, on Friday, March 8, 2024.
Born to the late Leo and Dorothy (McManus) Hanley in Lynn, MA, July 30, 1948, Bill went on to graduate from Lynn English High School. He attained a management diploma from the Bryant & Stratton Junior College of Business.
Bill married his high school sweetheart, Karen (Milley) Hanley and they enjoyed 35 years of marriage before her passing in 2006. They lived in Lynn, MA where they raised one son, Ian. Bill was known for his grand sense of humor and was considered quite the racounteur. He worked as a printer at Colonial Printing out of Malden, MA and later he was employed as a custodial worker by Boston College. Together, he and Karen as, committed, Bible believing, Evangelical Christians, served in two local churches in Lynn, with Bill leading the singing ministries, among others.
Bill met Carolyn (Crispin) Hanley while working with the Music Team at Austin Square Baptist Church, Lynn, MA, and they married in 2007. Bill and Carolyn later moved to Alexandria, NH, where they served as members of Baptist Bristol Baptist Church since 2015. Bill performed as song leader while Carolyn served as accompanist on the piano. During a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico, the locals noted his trademark beard and referred to him as "Papa Noel.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn D. Hanley; his son, Ian and wife Thea of Raymond, NH; two grandsons, Michaleen and Eamon; a brother Leo and wife Kerrie and nephews Nathan and Noah of Hillsboro, NC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 2 PM at the Bristol Baptist Church, 20 Summer St, Bristol, NH 03222, with a collation following.
Burial will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Alexandria.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be donated in Bill’s memory to the Bristol Baptist Church, 30 Summer Street, Bristol, NH 03222.
