We are sad to announce the passing of Louis George Dionne, in the fall of 2023.
Born in Salem, MA on January 2, 1942,to Gerard & Dolores Dionne. Hemarried Maureen Banville in 1965. The marriage lasted 58 years. Lou is predeceased by his youngest son, Kevin. Survived by son, Steven and his family, Stephanie, Jacqui, Rachel, Taylor, and Cameron, as well as his son,Peter and his family, Marci, Rose, and Rheann.
He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Salem, MA in 1959 and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology then Lowell Technological Institute.
Lou started his career as a draftsman at Sylvania in Salem, MA in 1967. Later he started his own businesses, including Beverly Waterproofing in 1970, Dionne Construction on the North Shore of Boston and finally owning and operating a commercial millwork and cabinet making business, Commercial Casework in Salisbury, MA.Lou will always be remembered for his fair and honest business and employee relationships. He was proud to put his employees first in his companies.
He was a country music enthusiast for many years and enjoyed going to shows with his wife over the years. Anyone entering Lou & Maureen’s home were commonly greeted by a beautiful ocean view and the sound of country music cascading throughout the house. Everyone who knew Lou knew how much he loved fishing, boating and cars – Corvettes in particular. He enjoyed many years spending time with his wife at their condo in Punta Gorda, FL.
He enjoyed many lifelong friendships including a strong friend group bonded by the commonality of having and raising special needs children. In his later years he enjoyed his role as a grandfather and keeping track of his grandchildren’s activities, adventures and accomplishments.
In the spirit of Lou’s vibrant life, his journey will be celebrated in the spring of 2024.
