Jessie R. (Parker) (Doherty) Knight, 91 died Tuesday July 11th in the Brockton Hospital, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late James Doherty and George Knight
Born in New Bedford. a daughter of the late Harris and Eloise (Lewis) Parker. She was a graduate of Medford High, Class of 1933 and attended Northeastern University
Jessie lived in Silver Lake NH. for 25 years and also Abington where she has resided for 35 years.
She was a member of the VFW auxiliary of Halifax and Grange of Silver Lake, NH.
She was a supervisor for Gillette for 13 years and also worked at Balfour Corp in Attleboro for 10 years, she was also a welder at the Charlestown shipyard during WWII
She is survived by her daughter, Jessie Wight of Whitman and Florida, a daughter-in-law Pauline Doherty of Abington, her beloved companion Ernest Johnson of Whitman; also 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Dennis and Sarah Doherty and the sister of the late Albert Parker.
Her funeral service will be held Friday July 14th at 7:00 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street Rt.58 (at the rotary circle), Whitman, Ma.. Visiting hours Friday July 14th, 3-7 P.M.
