Paul W. Maxwell
Retired Analog Devices & Raytheon Electrical Engineer

TEWKSBURY: Paul William Maxwell, age 79, a resident of Tewksbury for 45 years, formerly of Woburn, passed away at home in the care of his family on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Magee) Maxwell, with whom he would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on September 25, 2024.

Born in Cambridge on February 23, 1945, he was the son of the late Lloyd Maxwell and the late Aurore G. (Dionne) Maxwell.

Paul was raised in Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School.

In 1966, he enlisted in the Unites States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War with the 620th Tactical Control Squadron. Paul was awarded several decorations for his active-duty service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he attended the University of Lowell, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Paul was employed as an electrical engineer by the Raytheon Corporation in Andover and for Analog Devices Company in Wilmington until his retirement.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing, photography, off-road four wheeling and was a member of the “Baystate Jeepers”.

Besides his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his son, Christopher P. Maxwell and his wife Jill, of Chelmsford: two daughters, Lindsay A. Penney and her husband Sean, of Chelmsford, and Jessica L. Martel and her husband Arnie, of Tewksbury: nine grandchildren, Karlie, Mason, and Julia Maxwell, Cameron, Kelsey, and Ashley Penney, and Austin, Thomas and Kendall Martel. He leaves many extended family members and friends.
Paul was the brother of the late Donna L. Beaupre, who passed away on March 13, 1999.

Calling hours are Tuesday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St. Tewksbury, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Rd. Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made Tunnels to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org.
