BRISTOL ---- David J. Albert, 70, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 after a lengthy illness.
Although born in Franklin, to Lewis and Helen (Ordway) Albert, he grew up in Groton and Hebron. In 1971 he graduated from Newfound Memorial High School and went on to graduate from the Toledo Ohio School of Meat Cutting. He worked as the Meat Cutter Manager for Hannaford for 33 years. For almost 40 years, David, along with his partner Joyce, also operated Dave’s Custom Meat Cutting from their home where they processed farm and wild game animals for local farmers and hunters.
In 1985, David graduated from the NH Police Academy. He served as Chief of Police in Groton, a patrolman with Bristol Police Department during the 1980’s and 90’s, and as a Sheriff for Grafton County.
David will be remembered for the pride he took in his work. He loved a good story or joke which was often followed by laughter. He loved to go camping and to watch the Red Sox. He really enjoyed outdoor projects and caring for his home.
