Gerard C. Vella, age 65, of Brockton, passed away on March 11, 2024 at Baypointe Rehabilitation following a brief illness. Born and raised in Quincy, he was the son of the late Rosario and Christine (Graffam) Vella. He was a graduate of Quincy Vocational Technical School and Peterson School of Steam Engineering.
For several years Gerry worked at Brockton Hospital as a boiler technician and then at Mirant Cambridge as an operating engineer.
Gerry had a great sense of humor and had a special way of telling Dad jokes. He enjoyed fishing, riding his bicycle and Triumph motorcycles.
Gerry is survived by his former wife Tina M. (Rando) Vella and his children Andrea C. Vella of Brockton and Nicholas F. Vella of Brockton. He was the brother of Charles Vella and his wife Christine of Whitman; Thomas Vella of Quincy;, Jean Marcella and her husband Michael of Winchester; Christine Morris of New Ipswich, NH; Natalie McDonald and her husband Paul of Weymouth and the late Stephen and Joseph Vella. He is also survived by his granddaughter Mia Belle Monteiro and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at a later date.
