Karen is survived by; her father, Harry Nigro; her sister, Kyle Matturro (Nigro); her beloved son Patrick Nethercott and so many other loved ones, friends and family. She is predeceased by her mother Joyce Nigro (Pike).
Karen was born February 26, 1963 in Bridgeport, CT. She spent the majority of her childhood in New York where she attended Mamaroneck High School. The family spent summers in Cornish at the family farm. Highland Farms held a special spot in Karen’s heart as her favorite place on earth and she cherished it her entire life.
She continued her education at the University of Maine at Farmington, but once she had her son it was clear to her what she was meant to do. She spent most of her years devoted to being a full-time mother to her greatest joy Patrick. She spent every moment ensuring he was raised to have good values and was surrounded with strong role models.
Some of their greatest memories together were, Patrick’s baseball camps which they would turn into camping trips and joking about Karen being the loudest mother in the bleachers at all of Patrick’s games. Throughout Patrick’s school years Karen was also a valued member of the Sacopee Valley Rec Counsil.
Karen will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Life Church in Gorham, ME. Pastor Brian Undlin will officiate.
