CHICOPEE – Patricia L. (Giera) Raymond, 80, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 11, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Renaissance Manor on Cabot in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on June 2, 1943, a beloved daughter of the late August S. and Thelma H. (Dietrich) Giera. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She furthered her education and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Framingham State College. She was a longtime Home Economics Teacher for the Chicopee Public Schools and retired in 2004. In her younger years, she was a devoted 4-H member and was a former communicant of Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Chicopee. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her former husband, Francis J. Raymond of South Hadley; her three loving and devoted children, Wende L. Rund and her husband, Chuck, of Plainville, CT, John F. Raymond and his wife, Audrie, of Granby, and Scott A. Raymond and his wife, Colleen, of West Springfield; her three cherished grandchildren, Madeline V. Rund, Nolan F. Raymond, and Arianna I. Albano; and her many dear cousins, extended family members and friends. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
