GILFORD ---- Patricia ‘Patsy’ Ann (Langill) Scribner, 80, of Gilford, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith, New Hampshire, surrounded by her family.
Patsy was born in Newton, Massachusetts, on October 13, 1943, to Charles Howard Langill and Dorothy (Gardner) Langill.
In 1956, Pasty began spending her summers in West Alton, New Hampshire. Patsy’s parents owned the Pine Cupboard Coffee Shop in West Alton, New Hampshire where she worked and met the love of her life, Ralph Scribner. She and Ralph married in 1962 and resided in Gilford, New Hampshire.
In 1967 she and Ralph started Winnipesaukee Marine Construction. She continued to run the business after her husband passed away in 1976 until she sold it in 1978. She continued to run the business until 2019. She was a very dedicated and loyal business owner who formed lasting relationships with her employees and customers. Patsy also owned and operated both Martel’s Bait Shop and Paugus Bay Sporting Goods for several years.
Pasty was a kind and generous person, a mother hen. She always put others before herself. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Patsy is survived by her son Ralph and his wife Dawn, grandchildren Colby and fiancé Kaitlyn and Laura and fiancé Owen, her sisters Anne Kroeger and Carol (Paul) Gilligan, sister-in-law Mary Wagner, nieces, Diane (Louis) Ricciardiello, Linda (Steve) Fournier and Heidi (Paul) Luscher, nephews Wesley (Maricris) Wagner and Kim Kroeger, Jr. and her best friend and cousin, Eleanor (Paul) Alpholt. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Ralph, brothers-in-law, Kim Kroeger, Werner Wagner and Ernest (Sam) Scribner, her many animals including JR, her donkey of 35 years, who was like her second child.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
