STEEP FALLS- Jeffrey “Jeff” “Jeffa” “Jazmine” Martin Folsom, age 61 of Steep Falls, passed away on March 10, 2024 at Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born, November 16, 1962 in Augusta, Maine, the son of Robert Folsom and the late Dolores Lymburner.
After graduating from Bonny Eagle High School, Jeff went on to work at Steep Falls Market for many years and then Acres of Wildlife Campground in Steep Falls for 30+ years where he was a Cook, Baker, Pie Maker, Bar Tender, DJ, Bingo Caller and lent a hand to whatever popped up.
He enjoyed a simple life making others happy with his cooking and sharing stories of life, nature, history and Egypt. He also loved feeding and watching the birds as well as many other wildlife that would often visit. He enjoyed Chess, Cribbage, Board Games, Puzzles, yearly visits to the Fryeburg Fair, Gambling, Coffee Brandy, Music and with a “Green Thumb” like his Mother, was able to grow just about anything.
What Jeff loved most of all were his many years at Acres, where summer to summer, year after year, he had many co-workers and met so many campers, who became not only friends, but family through those years. He will always be remembered for his gentleness and caring of those whom he met.
He is predeceased by his Mother Dolly, Grandparents, Norman LaFerriere and Anita LaFerriere, and his Nephew, Colin Folsom.
He is survived by his siblings Robert and Carrena Folsom of Steep Falls, Tony Folsom and Robin Norton of Standish, Christopher Folsom of Scarborough, Michelle and Dan Johnson of Bridgton, David and Lisa Lymburner of Sebago and Craig Lymburner of Standish.
His nieces and nephews Shaun Folsom and family, Tyler Folsom whom he shared a best friend relationship with and will miss him greatly and family, Mariah Folsom, Raymond Martell, III, Shayne and Samantha Martell, Lincoln Lymburner, Devin Lymburner, Daniel Johnson, Sadie Johnson, Tristan Lymburner and Darren Lymburner. Along with several great nieces, nephews, cousins and local friends.
He is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles; Peter and Peggy LaFerriere of Oregon, Karen Zebulon of New York, Rick LaFerriere of Colorado and his special cousin, Alisha Zebulon Sow and family of New York.
As Jeff said to Tony during his final days…….”I’ll be playing cards with Mom”.
