Nancy A. Lynch (Gregory), a longtime resident of Woburn passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 8th. She was 77 years young. Nancy was the loving wife for 45 years of the late Harvey F. Lynch (predeceased in 2011). Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Harbison) Gregory.
Nancy was born and raised in Somerville, MA where she graduated from Somerville High School. Following her marriage to Harvey in 1966 they made a loving home in Woburn, MA.
Nancy is survived by her children, Mark G. Lynch, and his wife Christine of Woburn, Pamela J. LaVita (Lynch), and her husband Salvi of Woburn, and Brian K. Lynch and his wife Michelle of Tewksbury. She was the sister of James W. Gregory and his wife Janine of Woburn, MA. She was the loving grandmother of Jennifer Bowman (Lynch) and her husband Garrett, Shauna Lynch, Alex Lynch, Megan Lynch, Krista Lynch, Kyle Lynch, Cory Lynch, Nicholas LaVita, Evan Lynch, Sabrina LaVita and Greysen Lynch. She was the great-grandmother of Rhett Bowman. She was the loving aunt of Marissa and Sophie Gregory.
To know Nancy is to love her. She was the matriarch of the family and adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her sense of humor was like no other. She was quick to tell you stories of her childhood. She was a firecracker and a force to be reckoned with. She enjoyed traveling with her family. A holiday in Nancy's house was like going to a restaurant buffet with a spread that could feed one hundred people. She enjoyed shopping in her spare time and visiting the local casinos. You could always find Nancy attending a sporting event that one of her grandchildren was participating in. She never missed a graduation, confirmation, or school celebration. She was the true meaning of selfless. She will always be our "Fancy Nancy".
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday, March 16th, at 10:30 a.m. Followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 15th, from 4 to-8 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions in Nancy's name can be made to the charity of one's choice.
