Lucille Oliver, age 73, of Jamaica Plain, passed away on February 28, 2024. Wife of the late Bobby Louis Oliver. Funeral Services at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain on Tuesday March 12 from 10 am until 12 noon. Interment will then follow at Fairview Cemetery. Lucille (Steele) Oliver was born June 1, 1950 in Selma, Alabama to her parents Townser and Roberta Steele. In 1965, she and her late husband, Bobby Oliver Sr. followed her sister, Roberta Steele to Boston, Massachusetts and decided to stay. Lucille has called Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts her home for nearly sixty years. Lucille worked as a seamstress making handbags at a local factory in Boston and also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts — however her most important role was that of “Matriarch of the Family”. So much so that she extended her role as “Matriarch” to those outside of her immediate family and was considered by many to be a “second mother”. She loved to cook and spend time with family — especially hosting parties, Sunday dinners and having sleepovers with the grand and great-grandchildren. She also loved to listen to music and to dance; to watch sports with Cal (Papa); and relax while watching her daily soap operas. Lucille was selfless — always putting others before herself — even taking others in when times were hard. Outgoing and outspoken, Lucille was the life of the party and she lived life to the fullest. Lucille leaves behind to cherish her memory her spouse, Calloway Worford Jr.; children: Rodney Oliver and Nyteesha Worford; daughter-in-law, Candice Oliver; grandchildren: Bobby Oliver III, Radéjah Oliver, Aungelia Oliver, Courtney Oliver, Kabrina Oliver, Angélique Saint-Brun, Iyanah Oliver, Arrayah Oliver, Hayden Alexis Jr., and Hunter Alexis; great-grand-children: Trey Coelho, Julius Leneus Oliver, Bobby Oliver IV, Christopher Oliver, Zyir Oliver, and K’halani Oliver; siblings: Tommie
