CHICOPEE – Raymond H. Larose, 88, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on February 22, 1936, a beloved son of the late Wilfred and Clarinda (Durand) Larose. He was raised in Holyoke, Graduated from Holyoke Trade High School, and moved to Chicopee in 1962 where he lived the remainder of his life. He served in the Army National Guard and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was a long distance technician for AT&T in Springfield and retired in 1989. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fairview Council 4044 and the Bishop Joseph F. Maguire Assembly of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, both in Chicopee. He was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Ray always had a camera in his pocket, capturing many precious memories for family and friends. He will always be remembered as “Mr. Fix It” and was always ready to help anyone in need. He loved to travel with the Bosch Travel Club. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Jacqueline V. “Jackie” (Fontaine) Larose. They were married on June 6, 1959 at Precious Blood Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 64 years of happiness together. Besides his wife, he leaves his three loving and devoted children, Kenneth R. Larose and his wife, Diane, of Chicopee, Lynne M. Cote and her husband, Rene, of Granby, and Janelle A. Soucia and her husband, Randy, of Belchertown; his eight cherished grandchildren, Eric Larose, Scott Larose, Glenn Larose and his partner, Maria, Melissa Anzalotti, Shaun Cote and his wife, Amanda, Sarah Nickerson and her husband, D.J., Rachael Soucia, and Jacqueline Soucia; his four cherished great grandchildren, Cameron and Logan Anzalotti, and Brooke and Allison Nickerson; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three dear brothers, Victor, Donald, and Richard Larose. His Funeral will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
