Obituary

ROY E. TENNY age 90, of Hingham, died on Wednesday, July 12th at the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham after a long illness. Born in Melrose, Mr. Tenny came to Weymouth at a young age where he graduated from Weymouth High School. As a young man, he was an active Boy Scout with Troop #9 of Weymouth where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He moved to Hingham over 40 years ago. Mr. Tenny was an industrial equipment salesman for Ray Engineering in Burlington, MA for many years, retiring in 1991. He served with the Merchant Marine during World War II and was a member of VFW Post # 9260 in South Weymouth. He was a member of many masonic organizations including Mayflower Lodge in Middleboro, was a Past High Priest of Old Colony Royal Arch Chapter also in Middleboro and was an active Shriner.

Husband of the late Mary C. (MacPherson) Tenny, he leaves his two daughters: M. Kathleen Thomas of Kingston, Ontario and Karen C. Chroniak of North Weymouth. Also survived by 5 grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, July 15th at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.

Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Saturday, prior to the service from 10-11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Beacon Hospice, 8 Samoset St., Plymouth, MA 02360 or to the Shriner's Burns Institute, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.

The interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, South Weymouth.
