DELMAR, NY-John J. Jeffrey, 64 of Delmar formerly of Worcester, a biochemistry professor died Saturday November 24th in Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. He leaves his wife Ann (Meyer) Jeffrey, a sister Judith Maillet of Auburn, a brother Jerald Jeffrey and many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester the son of John and Margaret (Loughlin) Jeffrey. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and the College of the Holy Cross. He later earned a doctorate from Georgetown University and performed postdoctoral work at Harvard University. Dr. Jeffrey was a professor of biochemistry at Albany Medical Center. He had previously taught at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
The funeral will be Wednesday November 28th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. Philip’s Cemetery in Grafton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM the day of the funeral.
