Lorraine (Lavigne) Rodrigues, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Pelham, NH, formerly of Lowell, MA. She was 76 years old.
Born and raised in Lawrence, Lorraine was the daughter of Leo and Jeanne Lavigne. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965. From a young age, she exhibited remarkable determination and perseverance. She put herself through Computer Programming school while working full-time and raising a family. Her dedication paved the way for a successful career, retiring after 35 years at The Lowell Sun as the Computer Systems Manager.
After retiring, Lorraine found solace and joy at her lake house in Pelham, NH, where she not only cherished moments with her family and beloved pets, Lucy and Sydney, but also served as the epitome of strength and resilience as the matriarch of her family.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Lorraine had a passion for reading, watching old movies and game shows, fine dining, bowling, cooking, and embracing the pleasures of lakeside living. Her quick wit and unwavering love for her family will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Joseph A. Rodrigues, her parents and her sister Claire Lavin.
Lorraine's family was her greatest pride and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her loving daughters Kimberly Laorenza and her husband, Michael Laorenza of Salem, NH, and Debra Rufiange and her husband, Joseph Rufiange of Pelham, NH.
Her grandchildren will forever cherish their Memare’s memory: Krystina Gignac of Lowell, Robert J. Gignac and his wife Alyssa Gignac of Lowell, Dylan Harriman of Salem, NH, and Mitchell Rufiange of Pelham, NH, as well as her great-grandchildren Ashton Cruz of Salem, NH, Kennedy Gignac, and Grant Gignac of Lowell, MA. She is also survived by her nieces, Cheryl Thibeault and Michelle Gilmore.
A private family service will be held to honor and celebrate Lorraine's life.
