
Floyd Earnest Pendley, 77, of Enigma passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Kindred Hospital in Atlanta. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Marion Green officiating. Mr. Pendley was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Born April 12, 1927, in Floyd County, Mr. Pendley was the son of the late Roy v. Pendley and Jewell Ramsey Pendley. He was also preceded in death by five brothers. He retired from Civil Service and served in the United States navy in World War II and retired from the Georgia National Guard with 41 years of service to his country as a motor maintenance sergeant.
Mr. Pendley is survived by his wife, Martha Jane Evans Pendley of Enigma; one son, Roger Pendley of Winder; three step-sons, J. B. Stinchcomb of Tifton, Jimmy Stinchcomb of Lawrenceville and Michael Stinchcomb of Bethlehem; one daughter, Sheila Healan of Bethlehem; two brothers, James Pendley of Acworth and Lawrence Pendley of Cartersville; one sister, Evelyn Ray of Chattanooga, Tennessee; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
