Obituary

Roseanna M. (Loureiro) Camaioni, 74, of Acushnet, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Roseanna was the wife of Ronald J. Camaioni, with whom she shared nearly 55 years of marriage, and the daughter of the late Alserino and Rose (Santos) Loureiro of New Bedford.

Roseanna was raised in New Bedford and was a member of the New Bedford High School class of 1967. In 1969, she married Ron and moved to Acushnet where they raised their daughter, Kristina.

Roseanna was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. A truly vibrant and eclectic woman, she was deeply loved by her family and many dear friends.

She was a strong supporter of the local music community for decades. Her interest in live local music began in 1978 when she and Ron began an unexpected adventure at the Fiddler's Green Irish Pub at the New Bedford Airport. The countless friends and memories made during their ten years at the helm of the pub set the foundation for lifelong friendships and an enduring legacy of support for the musical community. In the years following, she maintained her connection to music as a manager in charge of entertainment at the Kinsale Inn in Mattapoisett, and also organized and promoted concerts at various venues around the city.

Roseanna was also the owner of Infinity, an holistic wellness center and gift shop where she offered Reiki treatments, taught integrative health classes and workshops, and organized several popular wellness expos.

After receiving her cancer diagnosis, she became a volunteer at the Zeiterion Theater and joined the Zukes, an amateur ukulele group. Always a determined woman, she then learned how to play the ukulele and went on to form a second performance group, The Misfits.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with those she loved, especially her granddaughters, with whom she shared a very special bond.

Roseanna's endless energy and light, and her unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and music are her legacy and will be forever cherished my those who loved her.

Survivors include her husband Ronald; a daughter, Kristina O'Leary and her husband David of Glastonbury, CT; a brother, Marcus Loureiro of Taunton; 2 granddaughters, Abigail O'Leary and Clara O'Leary; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, March 8th at 8 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 7th from 4 - 8 PM. The services will also be live-streamed at whalingcitycatholics.org.
