Ethel M. (Constant) Jose, 57, of New Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Bradford Constant and Gale (Texeira) Constant, she lived in New Bedford all her life.
Ethel's creativity, whimsy and light was reflected in her art and beauty. When she wasn't painting a canvas or painting her face with makeup, she could be found dancing and singing to classic rock or watching her favorite first responder TV dramas. She loved by sharing her sense of humor and her willingness to listen. She would always remind others that "it can't rain forever".
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Spellman and her husband Chris of Westport; her significant other David Lamb; her brothers Keith, Shawn and Brad Constant; her sister in-law Tatum and nieces, nephews and great nephews.
She is predeceased by her son Jaime Jose.
Ethel's graveside service will be held Monday, March 11th at 11 AM in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 559 Mt Pleasant St., New Bedford. All are invited to attend to meet directly at the grave. Her visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 10th from 2-5pm in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
