Anna Maurine Leach Montague, 86, of Tifton passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Maple Court Assisted Living in Tifton. A private funeral service and burial will be held for Mrs. Montague at a later date in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Born July 7, 1937, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Mrs. Montague was the daughter of the late Clay Leach and Betty Taylor Leach. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Montague; one brother, Eugene Leach; and one sister, Margaret Wells. She was a retired school teach; and always “pushed people to be their best.” She loved to travel; and she loved to share Jesus (The Good News). She loved singing in the church choir and volunteering at her church and the hospital. She was a member of St. Michael’s Parish.
Mrs. Montague is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Phyllis Long of Radford, Virginia and Geoff and Kim Long of Daytona, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Jeff Partlow of Tifton; one sister, Betty Harlemart of Louisville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Heather, Lexie, Emily, Brandon, Sean and Elizabeth; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
