Thomas Joseph Connelly, born August 27, 1950, died at home in Wrentham on Friday, March 1 at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family. He was the youngest child of the late James Patrick and Catherine Francis (Stephens) Connelly of Jamacia Plain.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife Susan (Kelly) Connelly, with whom he shared 56 years of friendship and 49 years of marriage. The proud father to three children; Kelli (Steve) Leonard, Kristyn (Dan) Kennedy, T. Scott (Maureen) Connelly, the cherished Papa of Nicholas, Bella, Addie, Jacoby, Riley, Flynn, and Harry. In addition to his immediate family, Tommy leaves behind his sister Ann DeCoste of Dedham, James Connelly of West Bridgewater and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tom was born in Boston and grew up in Jamaica Plain, attended St Thomas Aquinas and Boston Technical High School. As a young man he proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He had two notable careers working for Verizon for 31 years and the MBTA for 15 years. Thomas and Susan moved to Franklin, MA from Jamacia Plain where they raised their family and spent 46 happy years hosting many cookouts, pool parties and holidays.
Tom enjoyed golfing, meeting friends for lunch, going to the beach, taking trips, reading by the pool, and wintering in Florida. His favorite pastime was cheering on his grandkids in their many sporting events.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, Franklin, MA, Wednesday March 6, 2024, 4pm-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church Wrentham, MA, 130 South Street at 10:30 AM on Thursday March 7, 2024.
Burial will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery.
