LUDLOW – Edward L. LaFromboise, 83, of Ludlow, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on April 17, 1940, a beloved son of the late Alexander and Bella (Daudelin) LaFromboise. He was raised and educated in Springfield and moved to Ludlow around 1973 where he lived for most of his life. He retired as the warehouse supervisor for the Harry Grodsky Heating and Air Conditioning Company on Page Boulevard in Springfield. He previously was employed for the A. Boilard and Sons Lumber Company in Indian Orchard and was a Funeral Assistant for the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Funeral Chapels in Chicopee and Springfield. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fairview Council 4044 where he served as an Officer and an active volunteer for many years. He also served as Faithful Navigator for the Bishop Joseph F. Maguire Assembly of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of The Catholic Community of Saint Elizabeth at Saint John the Baptist Church in Ludlow. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, his many friends, and his faithful companion, his dog Luna. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Dolores L. (Scibelli) LaFromboise. They were married on July 1, 1961 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. He leaves his two loving children, James D. LaFromboise and his wife, Trisha, of Ludlow, and Michele A. Harrington and her husband, Ernest, of Chicopee; his seven cherished grandchildren, Ashley O’Dea and her husband, Kevin, Jason Besner, Nicholas LaFromboise and his wife, Chelsea, Tyler LaFromboise and his partner, Ally Koehler, Thor LaFromboise, Timothy Harrington and Kimberlee Harrington; his cherished great grandson, Connor O'Dea; his dear sister, Rita Martins and her husband, Jack, of Ludlow; his three dear brothers in law, Henry Scibelli and his partner, Kathy Bourque, of Ludlow, Dennis Scibelli and his wife, Christine, and Joseph Scibelli and his wife, Gail, all of Wilbraham; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his beloved son, Craig LaFromboise who was Called Home on September 24, 2018; his great granddaughter, Aubrey O'Dea who was Called Home on March 19, 2021; and his six dear siblings, Albert and Alexander LaFromboise, Esther Dominick, Beatrice Axiotis, Doris Houghton, and Mary Lamora. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
