Obituary

LYMAN- Raoul Real Cote, 89, of Lyman passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was born in Biddeford Maine on June 5, 1934, son of William and Victoria Martin Cote, and was educated in local schools.
Raoul held the rank of Senior Airman in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was a proud veteran stationed in Florida, Iceland and Bangor Maine.
On February 18, 1956, Raoul married the love of his life, Janet G. Pineau. Recently celebrating 68 years of Marriage. Raoul and Janet traveled frequently, enjoying places like St. Anne de Beaupre, Keene NH, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends as often as possible, especially during the holidays. His other hobbies included, hunting, fishing and bowling. He had a great passion for gardening and yard work. And was a devout parishioner of St. Andre’s and St. Joseph’s Church.
Raoul enjoyed a 38 year career at Biddeford Textile in Biddeford Maine, retiring in 1996. Raoul is pre deceased by his father and mother, as well as 6 sisters and 5 brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet, and his three children, Michael and wife Diane of Biddeford, John of Waterboro and Brian of Keene, NH. Several grand children, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the sons of Raoul and the staff at Hospice of Southern Maine for their caring and compassionate care during his illness.

This man who stands in Heaven, and is knocking at the door. Deserves the grandest entrance, that has ever been seen before. He’s had the kindest heart, that was ever given to man.
One of your faithful followers, devout right to the end.
So welcome him with open arms, gather around him, one and all. For now Heaven has gained an angel, We on earth must bear his Fall.
