Aline Conger Nichols, 77, of Tifton passed away Monday, January 5, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County with the Rev. Charles Nichols and the Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Nichols was laid to rest at Oakey Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien county.
Mrs. Nichols' grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County.
Born August 13, 1926, in Tift County, Mrs. Nichols was the daughter of the late Clark Conger and Stella Hall Conger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Dovward Nichols, who passed away in 1986; one son, Johnny Carl Nichols; and one brother, Wilburn Conger. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Alapaha Baptist Church.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by six sons, the Rev. Charles Nichols, Kenneth Nichols, Calloway Nichols, Harvey Nichols, the Rev. Garvie Nichols, and Henry Nichols, all of the West Berrien Community; two daughters, Glenda Grizzard of Tifton and Dorothy Grant of Enigma; three brothers, the Rev. Leonard Conger, Roy Conger and Curtis Conger, all of the West Berrien Community; two sisters, Inez Conger of Jacksonville, Florida and Lelia Jane Wells of Tifton; eighteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three step great-grandchildren.
