Lillie Mae Hayes McDaniel, 83, of Tifton passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2004, at Tift Avenue Church of God with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley and the Rev. Billy Dawson officiating. Mrs. McDaniel was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Michael Shane Hall, Roy Clayton McDaniel, Ryan Douglas McDaniel, Michael Lee McDaniel, Joseph Lee McDaniel and Thomas Edward McDaniel served as pallbearers.
Born November 28, 1920, in Tift County, Mrs. McDaniel was the daughter of the late Berry Hayes and Lillie Plair Hayes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie McDaniel. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by six sons, Roy David McDaniel, Jimmy Lee McDaniel, Carl Eugene McDaniel, Bobby L. McDaniel, Herman E. McDaniel and William C. McDaniel, all of Tifton; two daughters, Lillie Marie McDaniel Hall of Atlanta and Sarah Helen McDaniel Grund of Texas; one brother, George Hayes of Lakeland, Florida; two sisters, Annie Lee McGill of Ellaville and Genora Sumner of Clearwater, Florida; forty grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
