Jean Young Fletcher, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Friday, March 1, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Pastor Larry Davis and the Rev. Sammy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Level Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Fletcher was born August 25, 1959, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Elbert & Mary Alice McLeod Young. She worked as a Direct Support Professional as well as a career coach and supervisor for The Jessamine Place for 26 years. She truly believed in the credo of TJP whereby every person has gifts and talents that must be welcomed, celebrated, and acknowledged in the heart of the community. She loved the people she worked with and had a positive impact on many lives throughout her career. She attended Open Gates Ministry.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Louie Fletcher of Fitzgerald; children: Michelle & Eddie Culpepper, Lucinda Fletcher, Breanna Fletcher, Nancy Long and Justin Lamb, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Troy Long, Jr. and Carly Long; sisters: Barbara Spires of Alma, Eloise & Charlie Daniel of Coffee County, and Mary & Armando Hernandez of Cochran; father-in-law, Joe T. Fletcher of Fitzgerald; brother-in-law, Wiley & Lisa Fletcher of Fitzgerald; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louie & Lurlyne Young; a brother-in-law, James Spires; and her mother-in-law, Jeanette C. “GG” Fletcher.
