Wanetah “Mickey” Brogdon Muzzey, 95, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. James Griffin and the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. Muzzey was born August 22, 1928, in Miami, Florida, to the late Otis Leroy & Mattie Kate Morris Brogdon. She worked for the telephone company and was a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Muzzey also loved her cats. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County.
She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Roberts & Hugh of Ocilla; nieces and nephews: Jay Roberts & Sarah of Ocilla, Jerry Golden & Wendy of Athens, Alabama, Gary Golden & Lisa of Peachtree City, Allen Lacroix & Yvonne of Ocilla and Jeana Huff of Atlanta; special family: Crista Clements & Ashley of Birmingham, Alabama and Carlee & Bailey Alexander of Ocilla; great-nieces and nephews: Aaron Golden, Justin & Kim Roberts, Ashlee & Trent Oakes, Jana & Dillon Hendrix, Sydney Golden, and Sam Golden; as well as several great-great-nephews and a great-great-niece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles James “Chuck” Muzzey; two brothers: Lewis Brogdon and Otis Leroy Brogdon, Jr. and two sisters: Mildred Lloyd and Carole Golden.
