Jean Clements Hilton, 94, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Hilton at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Marty Mullis and the Rev. Dr. Jeff Pangle will officiate.
Roger Walker, Joe Hilton, Austin Hogan, Steve Hogan, David Clements and Jimmy Benson will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 7, 1930, in Tifton, Mrs. Hilton was the daughter of the late David Leon Clements, Sr. and Willie Wilson Clements. She was also preceded in death her husband, William “Billy” Thomas Hilton; four sisters, Joyce George, Betty Hill Winegard, Sue Benson and Faye Duckworth; and two brothers, Edwin Lee Clements and David Leon Clements, Jr. Before retiring, she was a secretary for 28 years with the Tift County Commissioner’s office; and she was a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Tifton. She loved working with flowers; she loved to cook; and she loved keeping kids.
Mrs. Hilton is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas L. and Brenda Hilton of Waterloo, Dicky W. Hilton of Tifton and Charlie R. and Pat Hilton of Wray; three grandchildren, Stephanie Hogan, Joe Hilton and Heather Hilton; two great-grandchildren, Austin Hogan and Ansleigh Hogan.
