LACONIA ---- Dorothy Janet (Fantini) Kereage, 90, passed away at her home on Monday, February 26, 2024.
She was born on July 19, 1933, in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of Rico and Alice (Sweeney) Fantini.
She lived in Haverhill, MA, and graduated from Haverhill High School in 1951. She graduated from Lowell Teachers College in 1956 and from Boston University in 1961 where she earned a masters degree in education.
She taught school for 25 years, teaching in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and for the Army Dependent Schools in Germany.
Dorothy married Robert Kereage in 1965 and lived in North Andover for 20 years before moving to Laconia in 1983. She and her husband purchased and rebuilt Birch Knoll Motel, until retiring in 1995 and moving to Gilford.
She volunteered at the LRGH gift shop and Gilford Library; and served as Supervisor of the Checklist in Gilford.
She is survived by her son, Robert Kereage and his wife Aimee and a granddaughter Chloe Kereage. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert S. Kereage.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 12:00pm, at Linwood Cemetery, 41 John Ward Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
