Anthony C. ‘Sonny’ Rossetti, 72 of Medford died Sunday unexpectedly in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Medford, MA.
Born in Winthrop, he lived all his life in Medford and was the son of the late Philomena (LoCore) and Anthony Rossetti. Anthony was a Meat Cutter at Star Market in Porter Sq. for 36 years and retired in 1997. Up until his death he was still working at Star Market as part time meat cutter. Anthony was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He also was in the National Guard of Massachusetts, and the Army Reserves. In 1986 he received the Armed Forces Reserve Medal for his honorable and satisfactory service from May 18, 1975 to May 17, 1985. Mr. Rossetti was a member of Medford VFW Post 1012, and the Knights Of Columbus Council 13966.
Beloved husband of the late Eleanor C. (MacDonald) Rossetti. Devoted father of Joseph A. Rossetti and his wife Cheri of Medford, Michael C. Rossetti and his wife Debbie of Lynn, Patricia A. Rossetti-Banks and her husband Mark of Melrose, and the late Mary Rossetti. Loving grandfather of Ashley, Anthony and Christopher. Brother of Corinne Modugno of Medford, and Francis “Buddy” Rossetti of Florida. Special Friend to Rose Scanlon of Woburn.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
