Alfredo Rodrigo Vieira Peixoto, 36, affectionately known as 'Rodrigo' by most, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished family, Rodrigo's spirit departed this world, leaving behind memories that will forever be treasured. He was the husband of MaryLou (Torres) Peixoto, with whom he celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary October 2, 2023.
Born and raised in Vila Franca, Sao Miguel, Rodrigo received his education there before embarking on a journey that led him to Lowell, Massachusetts. In June 2011, he arrived in the United States to reunite with his siblings, seeking new opportunities and adventures. He quickly made Lowell his home, immersing himself in the vibrant community of the Back Central Neighborhood.
He had a passion for soccer that ignited his spirit. Whether cheering for his favorite team, Sporting, or playing for the Reds Club (Portuguese American Civic League), he found joy and camaraderie in the sport. His love for the game extended to his leisure time, where he could be found watching matches at the Reds. Rodrigo dedicated a decade of his life to Marty's Landscaping, where he showcased his skills as a landscaper, mason, and snow removal during the winter.
He cherished moments spent with his beloved wife, MaryLou, fishing until the late hours and basking in the serenity of the beach. He had a fondness for scratch tickets and found delight in the simple pleasures of life.
Rodrigo will be deeply missed by his adoring family, including his parents, Carlos Alberto Rebelo Peixoto and Maria Do Santo Cristo Bolarinho Vieira Peixoto; his siblings, Manuel Fernando Vieira Peixoto and his wife, Kiara, Sara Christina Vieira Peixoto, Tania DeJesus Vieira Peixoto, Andreia Vieira Peixoto and her fiancé, Ruben Moniz, and Henrique Miguel Vieira Peixoto.
He also leaves behind his mother and father-in-law, Manuel and Maria Margarida Torres, along with his in laws, Stephanie and her husband, Timothy Landry, and Manny Torres Jr. and his fiancé, Kelley Palmer, and his cherished nieces and nephews, Jacob & Collin Landry, Bianca & Santiago Moniz, Jace Peixoto, Maria Clara Santos, Tatum Peixoto, as well as his godson Brysen Silva.
In addition to his family, Rodrigo's memory will be carried on by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Portugal and friends, including his dear companions Kevin Silva, Diogo Silva, Sean "Bird" Lobao, and Ruben Costa, whose lives were touched by his kindness, laughter, and unwavering friendship.

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 9-11 a.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. His funeral mass will take place at 12 noon at St. Anthony Church, 893 Central Street, Lowell.
