Marie Sabina Mastro (Mastrototaro), Born June 25, 1933, daughter of the late Savino and Angelina (Sisto) Mastro, raised in Roslindale, Mass. Marie, fondly known as Nonie to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones. She is reunited with her late significant other, John (J.B. Jack, Honey, & Grampy) Barrett. Marie is survived by her 5 children: Ralph Jr. wife Mary Grace Chubbuck, Christine Donovan, Carolyn (Cal) Heim late husband Donald Heim, Dennis wife Mary Chubbuck, and Marie (LaLa, La) & Husband Manuel (Manny) Noe.
She is preceded in death by her late daughter Ann Marie Leary-Forsyth and late son Michael & Late wife Mary Chubbuck. And also preceded in death by her Sister Rose (Mastro) Auciello and Antionette (Mastro) Marchionda.
Marie leaves behind a legacy cherished by 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and Godchild. Whom adored her.
She was known for her love of dancing, often adorned in her "GOGO" boots and "HOT PANTS," and her passion for bowling and racquet ball. Her zest for life extended to enjoying moments with family and friends, whether playing a hand of gin rummy or relishing Italian roots at North End Feasts and listening to her Italian Music. Marie had a contagious laughter, a warm smile, and an appreciation for a good joke. She found solace in the pages of mystery novels.
Born and raised in Boston, in her early years could be found helping her parents and daughter Marie in the family business Ann's Flower Shop in Jamacia Plain, and later at A Bella Mia Flowers in Norwood, Mass. Marie later lived in Weymouth, and Norton throughout her life. Her vibrant spirit, love for life, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to attend viewing hours on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 5-9 PM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday March 2, 2024 at 1:30 PM in St. Mary's Church, 1 Power Street, Norton, MA. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory.
