Jane T. "Janie" McLaughlin, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 23, 2024. She was 79 years of age.
Janie was born in Boston on October 27, 1944, a daughter of the late Anna (Allwood) Connors. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated and graduated high school. She worked as a bookkeeper for Eagle Elevator for many years and, prior to that, worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. Janie enjoyed playing BINGO and watching game shows. She loved to travel to Las Vegas, visiting casinos, and following various Irish bands.
Janie is the beloved wife of the late retired Boston Firefighter Francis "Franny" McLaughlin She is the dear Auntie Janie to the late Mimi Wrenn and her surviving husband Paul. She is the loving "Grandmother" to Paul M. Wrenn, Patrick D. Wrenn, and Sean R. Wrenn, to whom she loved with all her heart. She is the beloved sister of the late Marie "Peachie" Marsden, Shakey Dowd, Arthur Dowd, Betty Dowd, Jimmy Connors, and Billy Connors. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Janie's visiting hours on Saturday morning, March 2, 2024 in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. followed by her Funeral Mass at 12Noon in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
