David D. Despirito, 72, of Dracut, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on February 23, 2024. Born in Lawrence on February 7, 1952, he was the son of the late Domenic D. and Adeline "Lena" B. (Mele) Despirito. Dave retired from Western Electric where he worked as a machinist for over 30 years. He also worked many years at the Dracut Police Department as a mechanic, and later worked there in facilities maintenance. Dave was a member of the Pioneers of America, the Knights of Columbus in Methuen, and a life member of the Centerville Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and building things with his hands, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. His grandson, Christian, brought him pure love and joy. He enjoyed teaching Christian his favorite hobbies and sharing special times with him. They loved participating in fishing derbies, as well as archery activities. Dave was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother: Frank Marconi. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty plus years Ruth (Lemieux) Despirito of Dracut, two daughters: Lisa Despirito of Dracut and Stephanie Volpicelli and her husband Louis of Medford, two sisters: Ann Perruccio of Brookfield, MA., and Donna Despirito of Methuen, MA, one sister-in-law: Elaine Gaudet of Dracut.
