Joanne Marie Snow, 61, of Worcester, passed unexpectedly yet peacefully, Saturday, February 17th at home. She leaves her beloved Azzie; five sisters, Rosemarie Sargent and her husband, David of Spencer, Tina Cristy and her husband, Gordon of Worcester, Donna Godfrey and her husband, Robert of Worcester, Ann-Marie Tsetsos and her husband, James of Worcester, and Mary Jo Peterson of San Diego, CA; four brothers, Warren Snow, Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Spencer, Gregory Snow and his wife, Debra of Spencer, David Snow and his wife, Nancy of Auburn, and James Snow and his wife, Justine of Worcester; nineteen nieces and nephews; seventeen great nieces and nephews, who brought her endless joy; and her dear friends who were family. She was predeceased by her parents, Warren B. Snow, Sr. and Alice (Mullaney) Snow.
She was born in Worcester and graduated from Worcester State with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Joanne’s career was based in science and research. She was a lover and student of all things nature. She was a master herbalist and held extensive knowledge in botany, geology, ornithology, and zoology. If one had a question, the answer would be “just ask Jo”. Her talents were immeasurable. She was an artist, painter, photographer, jewelry designer, author and teacher.
She exemplified grace and fortitude. Joanne was a gift to us all and will be forever in our hearts.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, March 1st from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
