Janet Lee Gee, 62, of Litchfield, NH, passed away tragically in a fire at her home early on the morning of Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1962, in Stoughton, MA, a daughter of the late Glenn and Joan (Russell) Walker. Janet grew up in Derry from the age of two until 1987 when she married the love of her life Thomas Gee and they moved to Litchfield.
Janet enjoyed being in nature, the beach, biking, walking her dogs, and celebrating holidays. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and playing with her grandkids. She was very active with the school system and in the town, but also had a strong faith. She was a member of the Freedom Point Church (formerly known as the Granite State Church of Christ).
She will be remembered as a kind, loving, and gentle soul. She had the capacity to befriend anyone that she met. She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister, and she took great delight in her newest role as grandmother “GiGi”.
While living in Litchfield, Mrs. Gee, as she was affectionately known, worked at Griffin Memorial School as a lunch and recess monitor. She was loved by all the students at the school during the 20+ years she worked for GMS and was often referred to as the fun one.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Gee of Litchfield; two daughters, Jennifer Bonanno and husband Bobby of Hooksett, NH, and Jessica Peterson and husband Michael of Litchfield; one son, Timothy Gee and wife Shayna of Manchester, NH, three grandsons, Malcolm, Milo and Wells; her dogs, Hazel and Stryker; one sister, Jill Weimer; one brother, Gregg Walker, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by one sister Judy Last.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a private Celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “End 68 Hours of Hunger” to support local, food-insecure children.
