Obituary

Alice Lastinger Clark James, 76, of Tifton passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Edward Mimbs officiating. Mrs. James was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Karl Lastinger, Wally Lastinger, Waymon Lastinger, Bo Purvis, Frank Griffin and George Creech served as pallbearers.

Born May 29, 1928, in Brantley County, Mrs. James was the daughter of the late Arthur W. Lastinger and Lora Mae Dowling Lastinger. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Willie "Bill" Clark; her second husband, Alvin James; and a son-in-law, Wesley Mann. Before retiring, she was the Executive Secretary for Ashland Oil Company; and she was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. James is survived by one son, Mitch Clark of Tifton; one daughter, Billie Mann and her fiance;', David Matway of Roswell; two brothers, Ted Lastinger of Orange Park, Florida and Kennis Lastinger of Brunswick; one granddaughter and her husband, Monica and Ralph Francis of Dacula; and one great-grandson, Chase Francis.
