Vera Francis Maddox Jones, 95, of Omega passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Tift Health Care. Her funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Omega Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Morris officiating. Mrs. Jones was laid to rest at Omega Cemetery.
Greg House, Randy Jones, Kevin Donald, Alex Simmons, Jamie Carr and Michael Carr served as pallbearers.
born September 20, 1908, in McCall, South Carolina, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Will Maddox and Carrie Harrington Maddox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John P. Jones; one son, William Carrol Jones; one daughter-in-law, one brother; and two sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Omega Methodist Church. She had lived in Omega most of her life.
Mrs. Jones is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Sara Jones of Omega; five grandchildren, Rhonda Kunes, Peggy Carr, Patricia Simmons, Kathy Donald and Johnny Jones; and six great-great grandchildren.
