Barbara A. Tracey of Medford passed away on Wednesday, February 21st, at the Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea. Raised and educated in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary C. (O'Brien) Tracey. After graduating college, Barbara settled in Medford. She was employed as a teacher in parochial schools for much of her career, first at St. Polycarp school in Somerville and then in Immaculate Conception School in Malden. Barbara finished her career in teaching in the Chelsea public school system.
Barbara was the dear sister of Mary JoAnn Simonette and her husband Tony of Winthrop, and also leaves her loving nephews, Brien and Joseph Simonette. She will be remembered as an excellent artist, particularly talented at drawing, and also enjoyed crocheting. Barbara was highly intelligent and very good multi-tasker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, February 29th from 3 through 5 PM, and again on Friday, March 1st at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
