Katherine D. (Blair) Curneen, 72, of Lakeville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Patrick J. Curneen, they shared 50 years of marriage.
Mrs. Curneen was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Robert B. Blair, Jr. and the late Carol V. (Hill) Blair. She was raised in E. Freetown and had resided in Lakeville for the last 50 years. Prior to her retirement in 2009, she had worked as a teacher for the Dighton-Rehoboth School Department. She was a member of the East Freetown Congregational Christian Church, the Ladies Friendly Circle and a founding member of David's Helping Hands. She also belonged to the Five C's Couple's Club. Mrs. Curneen was devoted to her family and was affectionately called "Aunt Sassy" by her nephews.
Survivors along with her husband include her 3 nephews: Brian Miller, Ben Miller and Bruce Miller; along with many other nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Virginia B. Blair and Patricia A. Miller.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the E. Freetown Congregational Christian Church, 4 Washburn Rd., E. Freetown, MA 02717 at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Friday at the Kirby Funeral Home from 4-7 P.M.
Interment in Chace Cemetery, E. Freetown.
