John “Jay” Kiely, of Wellfleet MA, formally of Burlington, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Jay was 61 years old. Jay was born February 9, 1963 and raised in Burlington, MA by his late parents, William and Ann Kiely, alongside his 2 older siblings Billy Kiely and late sister Barbara Kiely (Gerardi). Jay enjoyed his privacy living in Wellfleet MA, with his loving wife Jill Kiely, and his dogs Caesar and Jackie.
Jay’s younger years were filled with skiing with friends, attending many concerts, talking around a fire with his close friends, and playing sports such as basketball and baseball with his brother Billy. You always knew Jay was present at an event by his infectious laughter and the crowd gathering around him. Jay graduated in 1981 from Burlington High School.
After high school, Jay pursued a career in commercial driving as well as construction, where he obtained his CDL which began his career of delivering fuel. Jay then got into the career of carpentry where he enjoyed being a handyman, using tools, doing construction, and utilizing his creativity.
Jay is survived by his children Rachael, John “JJ”, Jessica, Dessia, and step-daughter Chelsea, along with his nieces Jamie, Sarah, Carla, and Stasia. Jay is also survived by his loving wife Jill Kiely, who has been by his side for the last 15 years. Jay’s services will be announced at a later date.
