Obituary

David Thomas, 75, of Worcester, died on February 19th in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Jeanne (Lefebvre) Thomas; two sons, William DiBenedetto, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl and Dennis Thomas and his wife, Christine all of Auburn; a daughter, Laura Metcalf of Worcester; four sisters, Diane Thomas of Oxford, Donna Grudziecki and her husband, Robert of Leominster, Debra Bixby and her husband, Richard, and Darcy Barton and her husband, Michael all of Oxford; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; an Uncle, Brian Gould; and many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Paul L. Jr. and Alice R. (Gould) Thomas. David graduated from St. John’s High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps for five years. He worked as a machine operator at Wyman-Gordon for many years up until his retirement in 2013. David enjoyed watching sports, specifically the New England teams, gardening, and collecting coins and trains. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

His funeral will be held on Friday, February 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with his funeral Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street. His calling hours will be on Thursday, February 22nd from 4:00pm until 6:00pm in the funeral home.
