Virginia (Rezendes) Mosher, 89, of Dartmouth passed away Friday February 16, 2024 after a period of declining health surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife to the late Clinton G. Mosher; they had recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of John C. and Mary (Vieira) Rezendes, she was raised in New Bedford and lived in Dartmouth all her adult life.
Virginia was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was intelligent, strong, caring, and compassionate. Family, friends, and neighbors were the focus of her life; she was happiest spending time with them. She was quick to help anyone in need at any time or place and always selfless in doing so.
She shared her father's love of the White Mountains in New Hampshire and passed it on to her children. Virginia was an excellent cook and baker. She was skilled at cake decorating including multi-tiered wedding cakes which she graciously made with love for family and friends. She enjoyed gospel music, crafts, reading, camping, and traveling in her motorhome with family, especially along scenic byways including fall foliage trips to Vermont and winter trips to New Hampshire. At home, she enjoyed playing the piano, singing hymns, studying the bible, and watching songbirds perch outside her kitchen window, especially cardinals.
Virginia was unafraid of hard work and commitment. She devoted her life to raising her family, providing home care for others, and caring tirelessly for her elderly mother.
She is survived by her four children, Judith Greenlaw and her husband Vandy of Dartmouth, Janet Mosher Arruda of Dartmouth and partner Raymond LeComte of Wareham, Steven Mosher and his wife Lori of Acushnet, and Christopher Mosher and his wife Jo Anne of Scarborough, ME; six grandchildren, Rebecca Champion and husband Chris, Jonathan Greenlaw and wife Olyvia, Rachel Arruda Sitcoske and husband Matt, Amanda Mosher and boyfriend Joe Breen, Julia Mosher and fiancé James Guillaume, and Abigail Mosher; and five great-grandchildren, Oliana, Micah, Laelia, Byron, and Norah.
She was the sister of the late Lillian (Rezendes) Kingan, the late John C. Rezendes Jr., and the late Violet (Rezendes) Dias.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday February 23rd at 11:00 AM at the Hope Evangelical Community Church, 88 Hathaway Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
