Jeannine A. Desilets, age 62, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at home. Born in Fall River, MA, Jeannine was a lifelong resident of the area. She was the daughter of the late Joseph “Andy” and Loretta (Banville) Desilets. Jeannine was predeceased by her sister, Constance Desilets and brother, Paul Duquette.
Jeannine was a smart, independent and loving woman, daughter, sister, friend and professional, who always went above and beyond the call of duty.
Jeannine served in the United States Army as Military Police, before attending college at UMass-Dartmouth, where she obtained a B.S. in Accounting. She later advanced her education at Bentley University where she earned a Masters in Taxation. Jeannine worked as a Certified Public Accountant in various industries during her professional career and was highly regarded by her clients, co-workers and employers. She also served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Notre Dame Federal Credit Union and was last employed at the accounting firm Orefice & Caliri, CPAs.
Jeannine lived life fully, by enjoying travel, reading, gardening, dancing and working with her hands. She loved the sun and the beach, a good home improvement project, and had a special love for dogs and cats.
Jeannine was a loving and caring spirit who could always be counted on by the people she cared about.
Jeannine is survived by nieces, cousins, friends, coworkers and especially her best friend, Madeline Correia.
A celebration of Jeannine’s life, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held on March 2, 2024, at 11:30AM at SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA. Visitation will be from 10:30 - 11:30AM.
