Marjory A. Dolan, 93 of Franklin, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children. She was the beloved wife of the late James E. Dolan; loving and devoted mother to Karen (John) Ackles, of Franklin, MA, Donna (Jim) Mandeville of Marshfield, MA, Paul (Susan) Dolan of N. Andover, MA, Irene (Vinny) Gelsomino of Margate City, NJ, Richard James Dolan of Jackson, NJ and Robert (Susan) Dolan of Coventry, CT.
She was also a proud Nana to many grandchildren and Great Nana to many more. She was the daughter of the late Maynard and Mary (Kelley) Chapman and sister to the late Louise Giove and Earl Fry. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gerald and Nat Dolan and her sister-in-law Del Dolan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marjory was born in Boston, MA. She lived in Norwood, MA for many years then moved to Somerset, NJ for 45 years until returning back to MA two years ago.
Marjory was a sweet, gentle soul, always smiling and kind and a woman of great faith. She had a very special relationship with her husband James for 68 years. She missed him dearly. She had a passion for reading which brought her to volunteer at her local library for many decades. She loved crocheting and made many special blankets for her children and grandchildren over the years. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch of her home with her husband listening to the birds or looking at the beauty of the deer that frequented their back yard. They would wave or talk to whoever went by. She loved her life and all that surrounded her; family, friends, animals, music and laughter. She would also soak in the silence and peacefulness that nature brings.
Visitation is Friday, February 23, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, Franklin, MA followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, MA. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org
Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 1823 Amwell Road, Somerset, NJ, Monday, February 26, 2024 at 12:00 noon.
